Some time this week while I was trying to keep myself awake in one of my classes, I received a a lovely text message from my good friend Joe. The text message turned out to be probably the biggest news yet in terms of his internship with Status. Basically, Status was going to feature either through print or online his photos from a photo shoot that I modeled for back in December!

I couldn't help but grin from ear to ear and when I woke up this morning, today happens to be that day we've been waiting for

Location: UP Diliman Campus

I'm super stoked about this to think that this shoot was somehow a result of our spontaneity. During the day before the deadline of my group's thesis proposal, Joe texted me saying that he wants to have a photo trip session. I replied to him to having one in UP and then one thing lead to another while I was also finishing our thesis' methodology at the same time. It was also during that same day when Joe got a tweet from Status asking for his portfolio for they were looking for interns during that day. Coincidence perhaps?

Cheers to hopefully more features in the future and to more spontaneous shoots. Please do visit Status Photo Diary to see the rest of photos!

My healthy alternative afternoon snack

I spent my Saturday just bumming around the house (well more like in the living room in front of the plasma tv). Whenever I get the chance to just do nothing for the whole day, I usually take advantage of it since it is now a rare occasion for me to just bum around given my hectic acads life plus thesis and practicum. While doing the usual channel surfing routine (mtv - channel v -discovery travel and living - ftv - etc - bio) and having my nomnom moment with my "health snack", I stumbled into travel and living and it was showing Project Runway. I thought they were showing the new season but then all I saw at first was season 2 runner-up Daniel Vosovic (which I didn't mind at all because I used to have this huge crush on him even if he is gay), then Jeffrey, then Uli, and then other past contestants. It turns out that it was the Project Runway All-Star Challenge wherein 8 previous contestants were again going to battle it out to find out who among them is IN or OUT.

The challenge was for them to create a mini collection consisting of three pieces that reflects who they are as a designer and to show how much they have grown since leaving the show. In Project Runway fashion, there was a last minute surprise where they have to create a fourth look made out of unconventional materials. In this case, the materials were from a restaurant. The winner of the challenge is going to receive 100,000 dollars. It may not be Bryant Park but it is definitely good enough.

The winning piece from Daniel's collection (I would kill for those legs)
I really like the pants but "meh" with the top
Definitely one of my favorites. Who knew that we can expect something like this from Chris. I love the pairing of the pumpkin colored tights with the plaid.
I really liked Uli's collection especially with this dress. Her pieces are definitely what women and girls my age would love to wear
Koto really knows what women wants

If I were to judge the designs of the contestants I would have rank it this way: 1. Koto 2. Chris 3. Uli 4. Daniel

If Chris didn't go overboard with his red-carpet design, then I think he should have won because he is really the one that grown the most as a designer and to think that he is a costume designer. But if we are looking at the collection as a whole, then Koto should have definitely won over Daniel.

According to my online "nutritionist", I only have 771 calories remaining to consume for the day out of my suggested 1,371 daily calorie intake if I plan to shed off 1.5 pounds every week.

For the past two weeks or so, I have been trying to live...well "healthy" if you can call it that way. I was never really into exercise or those diet plans. I've always wanted to maintain my skinny frame and the way I do is I normally eat less like 1-2 meals a day and go out to walk more. So far it works but ever since thesis started, you just cannot help but eat and always feel hungry especially with the workload and the amount of pressure. To simply put it, I got fat and nowhere near my usual skinny self!

When the new year roll in, I decided to try and exercise more even if it is just jogging once a week or doing 15 min pilates daily. Towards the end of January my classmates decided for us to go to Boracay this summer. Thanks to them for adding the pressure, I now definitely have to comply with "healthy living" resolution if I want to get back that body. So this is was basically my diet-slash-fitness program that I came up with:
1. Daily Calorie Intake: 1200
2. One hour jogging twice a week
3. 2 sets of sit-ups and stretching exercises daily
4. No more desserts!

For the first two weeks of February, I was able to follow my program and saw that I got to shed off 2 lbs. However when Midterms and now with practicum came along, this program is starting to become "I don't think so" instead "Yes we can!". So I decided to do some revisions that will now hopefully suit my hectic schedule

1. Regularly update my food diary in MyPlate.com to follow the suggested 1,371 daily calorie intake
2. 3-4 sets of sit-ups and 20-30 mins pilates daily
3. Still no more desserts! (I'm proud to say that it has been 3 weeks and sticking to yogurt instead of cakes!)

By the end of April, hopefully I'm 5-7 lbs lighter (and ideally speaking, with a flat tummy!)

There happen to be such a thing called a Twilight phone.

You've heard that right and I am referring to that vampire novel-turned-movie-turned-teens going gaga for. My mom, out of the blue, decided to get me a new phone because of this promo she saw on the newspaper the other day. I was never one of those who should always have the latest cellphone model with all of those oh la la features. I'm contented as long as I have something that works meaning I can use it to call and text. For some reason, I am not a fan where you have that one stop gadget for everything. I like them to be separated meaning iPod only for music and cellphone only for calling and texting. But then again I still could not help but feel giddy all over. Who doesn't when getting gifts or getting anything new. Upon getting the "present", it turns out that she gave me the coolest thing ever that all Twilight fans would kill for. A New Moon theme QWERTY phone. Whad'up!

Imagine having the Cullen's Coat of Arms beautifully crafted in gold against the black matte covering. Imaging having all of your tones and ringtones consist of dialogues from the movie. Imagine seeing Jacob and his six pack invade your screen whenever you go to the menu. The best part of it all? The theme is not interchangeable. This phone is Twilight all day and night from the moment you open your phone up to the time you are waiting for to see you "message sent".

Okay enough of the sarcasm. Truthfully speaking, the phone really sucks although it met my needs (texting and calling), I just cannot help but be annoyed with all of the new moon stuff in this phone. I almost wish that I would be rather using my old and beat-up phone than drown in Twilight whenever I am using it. Hopefully I would soon forgot that these Twilight things even existed in my phone and be comfortably texting and calling.

P.S. I have to be game and ready when facing the public tomorrow with this gadget in my hand. Nasa pagdadala lang iyan
