My favorite collection from New York Fashion Week. The prints, colors, and that dress just won me over.

Although black and grey are still the dominating color, a lot of designers injected a pop of color may it be in bright red or burnt orange in an outfit or two. Prints were also evident over simple silhouettes as seen in Proenza Schouler's tribal prints and patterns as inspired by their road trip to Santa Fe. What's surprising to see is the open sandals trend as seen in Alexander Wang and Proenza Schouler for Fall 2011.

Music: Moving Clocks Run Slow by We Were Promised Jetpacks

Better late than never but here's a short behind-the-scenes video of Street Manila's A Closer Look for February: Miki Hahn. One of the costume designers behind Rosario (which by the way won for Best Production Design in the recent Metro Manila Filmfest Awards) and a budding stylist/designer to look out for, check out Street Manila to know more about her fashion philosophy and working behind-the-scenes in Rosario

During Fashion Week there were moments where I would find myself a space to stand and just observe everything and everyone surrounding me. There I was trying to absorb everyone's outfits, spotting known local fashion bloggers, designers, photographers, and at the same time trying to avoid bumping into people which was quite hard by the way. My fashion week experience actually reminded me of my internship a couple of months back with an events company. I could just imagine the stress, pressure, and chaos that everyone working there was dealing with. I remember being on call for like 17 hours for one event and that was definitely an experience that I actually enjoyed and learned a lot from. Well I guess the fashion and events industry is not really for the laid back.

After fashion week, me and Mj headed to Bonfacio High Street to grab a late dinner in Starbucks (yes we do call it dinner and not just a snack). In connection with our fashion-filled event earlier, there was an exhibit there showcasing Filipina Fashion and known Filipinas in the arts and media industry. Coincidence perhaps?

Last Thursday, me and Mj of Future Foes/Street Manila got to watch the Philppine Fashion Week Holiday 2010 featuring the Ready To Wear and New Generation Collection at the SMX Convention. It was interesting to see all the young fashion-minded people of Manila from bloggers and writers/editors down to known photographers in one place. It was also interesting to see Mj be in fangirl mode a.k.a smiling and hyperventilating at the same time when she finally got to meet photographer Bj Pascual.

Sorry for the crappy quality of the photos. Check out Future Foes to see more more photos from the show.

Rhiannon is the story of a lady that is from another world ~ called the Bright world ~ and she leaves her kingdom to become the wife of a king ~ a mortal king ~ but goddesses really can't marry mortal kings, if they do they lose their powers ~ their magic powers. And they don't lose the knowledge of them they just ~they know everything that's going to happen they just can'tdo anything about it. Which is a much more difficult way to live than not having magic powers is to not be able to use them and know exactly what's coming and to not be able to tell anybody. So she comes down and does her whole trip, and it's just a whole story ~ it's a wonderful story.

Two days ago my iPod was acting all up on me when I was trying to charge it. I immediately concluded that my iPod just died because it wasn't turning on at all even though it was already plugged in. I started restarting it as suggested by those tutorials in youtube and search results from google but still nothing happened. My sister told me that I better bring it to Greenhills and have it fixed because it looks like the battery needs to be replaced. I was really bummed that night because that iPod has been with me for four years and I take pride that compared to others, I haven't experienced any glitches with it. I even told my friend that it was the only "relationship" that I was ever serious with during my whining session.

Today I brought my iPod to Greenhills for it to be fixed immediately because it has to be back in normal mode in time for my Boracay trip by the end of this month. My friend Leanne together with her classmate Carl accompanied me because they have some errands as well to do in the area. First we went to digital hub for its consultation to see what needs to be repaired. It felt like waiting for a patient for its diagnosis because we were waiting for like 20 mins or so. The person in charge then told us to have it repaired in this store inside Theatre Mall because there might be something wrong with the motherboard. Upon arriving in that store, my iPod then suddenly turned the moment the repair guy plugged it to the connector. It was then concluded that there was nothing wrong with the battery or motherboard but the click wheel has to be replaced because the center button is not already functioning. I decided to have it replace and it cost me 700 pesos. My iPod is now back to normal and note to self to always charge it even before the battery drains because I've been a bad girlfriend for I have been neglecting it for the past couple of weeks.

While roaming around Greenhills I stumbled into the display window of Bayo and saw this new collection of pastels, ruffles, and romantic pieces that really caught my attention. I've never been a fan of Bayo but this collection is now making me want to go there right now and try them on.

Filled with touches of lace, ruffles, and eyelet details, this collection brings back that feminine and romantic vibe after seeing masculine and androgynous inspired pieces dominating the runways for the past seasons. Perfect for the summer season, these pastel colored pieces will surely be a must have in every girl's wardrobe.

My healthy alternative afternoon snack

I spent my Saturday just bumming around the house (well more like in the living room in front of the plasma tv). Whenever I get the chance to just do nothing for the whole day, I usually take advantage of it since it is now a rare occasion for me to just bum around given my hectic acads life plus thesis and practicum. While doing the usual channel surfing routine (mtv - channel v -discovery travel and living - ftv - etc - bio) and having my nomnom moment with my "health snack", I stumbled into travel and living and it was showing Project Runway. I thought they were showing the new season but then all I saw at first was season 2 runner-up Daniel Vosovic (which I didn't mind at all because I used to have this huge crush on him even if he is gay), then Jeffrey, then Uli, and then other past contestants. It turns out that it was the Project Runway All-Star Challenge wherein 8 previous contestants were again going to battle it out to find out who among them is IN or OUT.

The challenge was for them to create a mini collection consisting of three pieces that reflects who they are as a designer and to show how much they have grown since leaving the show. In Project Runway fashion, there was a last minute surprise where they have to create a fourth look made out of unconventional materials. In this case, the materials were from a restaurant. The winner of the challenge is going to receive 100,000 dollars. It may not be Bryant Park but it is definitely good enough.

The winning piece from Daniel's collection (I would kill for those legs)
I really like the pants but "meh" with the top
Definitely one of my favorites. Who knew that we can expect something like this from Chris. I love the pairing of the pumpkin colored tights with the plaid.
I really liked Uli's collection especially with this dress. Her pieces are definitely what women and girls my age would love to wear
Koto really knows what women wants

If I were to judge the designs of the contestants I would have rank it this way: 1. Koto 2. Chris 3. Uli 4. Daniel

If Chris didn't go overboard with his red-carpet design, then I think he should have won because he is really the one that grown the most as a designer and to think that he is a costume designer. But if we are looking at the collection as a whole, then Koto should have definitely won over Daniel.
